Colleague in the spotlight: Keyur Payghode

Hello Keyur, can you introduce yourselves?

Hi, I am Keyur Payghode and have been working as a Design Team Lead at DevRepublic since August 2017, so I will be finishing my 4 years with DevRepublic very soon.

What are your skills as a designer?

The design is an area of experience, skill, and knowledge that is concerned with the ability to mold the environment to suit the material with external and internal needs. As a designer, I focus on understanding the basic needs, pain points, and highlight areas in any design project. Apart from this, I do User Interface Design, Visualization, Branding, Graphics Design, Typography, and Sketching & Drawing which are my most favorite.

What do you like at working at DevRepublic?

The culture of DevRepublic is very friendly, colleagues are very supportive and management is excellent.

What achievement are you proud off?

I have been selected Employee of the month twice at DevRepublic which makes me proud, We have updated our identity with new branding, I really enjoyed the process of new development.

How does your working day look like? (you start with tea/ coffee? Then do a standup? )

I start my day with tea, check my mailbox, and follow the standup meeting with the team for the day plan.

What is the difference working from home in Covid times versus from the office?

I really appreciate the flexibility that working from home offers in this pandemic time. I am more creative and focused early in the morning. Being able to set my own hours allows me to do my most productive work for the company. But on the other hand, I missed my tea break discussion with colleagues, missing the office environment & celebration of events, etc.

What do you like about working with Dutch people?

Dutch people are very work-friendly, polite, and very clear for work-life balance. I found my self easy to communicate with Dutch people.

Anything Dutch you like?

Yes, I do like sweets from the Netherlands, John and Eva always bring when they visit India, As an artist, I really impress with world heritage monuments in the Netherlands, I spent my 5 years in London and visited many places in Europe but still I wish to visit these places of Netherlands.

What is the biggest difference from your point of view in Indian and Dutch culture?

India is a land of 'unity in diversity' Over the centuries, there has been a significant fusion of cultures where In the Netherlands the Dutch society is modern & straightforward by nature. The Dutch are very direct, self-reliant, and entrepreneurial.

And if you are not working, do you practice any hobbies?

I’m Artist by heart & Designer by soul, from the very beginning art has been a part of my life, apart from design I also love Cycling, Traveling, and connect with people. In my spare time, I love to spend my time with my daughter and nature.
